Florence Nightingale
As the children we work with often say "meet the REAL Florence Nightingale".
Enjoy spending two hours with one of the most influential people this country has ever produced. Florence is happy to share stories from all seasons of her life with you. Discover what her life was like as a child. Who she spent time with, who she was inspired by and what life was like generally for a woman of her standing at that time.
Relive, with her, the time she spent nursing wounded soldiers at the hospital in Scutari. The smells, the sensations and the very hard work. Then discuss with her the accomplishments she enjoyed in later life through the work she carried out after returning home from the Crimean Peninsular.
Handle and play with the sorts of things she used as a child, read as a teen and used during the Crimean war. Wear the clothes that children wore in 1853 at the start of the Crimean conflict.
And then, to top its all off, you have the opportunity to hot seat Florence with whatever questions you like, no matter how strange or wondrous or intrusive. You can write these before her arrival if you wish.
This workshop includes costume for every child & staff along with plenty of artefacts that the children can handle.
