Norman Castle Life
Up and down the british countryside we see many beautiful castles but why are they there? Who’s idea was it to build castles? How were they Built? Did people really live in them? Who lived in them and what was their life like?
This workshop aims to answer all of the above questions and more in a fun and interactive way. By using costumes, artefacts and very enthusiastic teaching, we aim to leave you feeling excited about the subject of castles.
We teach about the development of castles from very simple wooden structures to the beautiful, powerful, imposing landmarks we see up and down the country still today. We teach about how they were changed and adapted to suite the needs of the people living in them and the communities that gathered around them.
